Dibble
David (Dave) E., 72, of Norman passed away Monday, August 9, 1999, following complications at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born February 10, 1927 in Rixford, Pennsylvania to William Jackson and Blanche Belle Miller Dibble. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University and graduate studies at Oklahoma City University and the University of Oklahoma. David served with the U.S. Air Force for 25 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel at Tinker Air Force Base in 1970. He was a pilot with the USAF Military Air Transport Command, flying personnel and supplies over the north Atlantic and Atlantic ocean and later, the Systems Command with the Titan Missile project. David was transferred to Tinker Air Force Base in 1963 and was the mechanical Branch Manager, Service Engineering. Following his military career, Col. Dibble became associated with Westinghouse Electric Corp. in April 1971, participating with the plans to build a plant in Norman. He held several management positions, and retired from York International Corp. 1989. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Norman. Dave enjoyed landscaping around his home, traveling, golf and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Order of Daedalian Honorary Fraternity of Air Force Pilots, Retired Officer Association and the Tinker Officer's Club. Forever kind and smiling, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and friend. His caring manner will be missed. Dave was married to Mary Jane Casler on October 29, 1950 at the Central Christian Church in Sherman Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jane of the home; his son, David II of xxxxx, xxxxx; a special niece, Joyce Bennett of Rixford, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Dorothy Bennett of Rixford, Pennsylvania, Mildred Adsit of Sherburne, New York; three brothers, Keith of Lodi, Ohio, Bill of Smethport, Pennsylvania and Aden of Rixford, Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 13, 1999 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman, Oklahoma with Dr. G. Hugh Wilson and Reverend Scott Love officiating. Pall Bearers are member of the Order of Daedalians. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with the USAF Honor Guard conducting the military honors. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
